Adopted by Americans at the age of 2 1/2, I was transported from my birthplace (Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada) to the character-building streets of Woodside, Queens, New York City.
Early on, I had dreams of being a famous musician. During my first semester as an undergraduate, I determined there were others whose dreams surpassed mine. So I dropped Music Theory and focused instead on Political Theory (of various hues) with the hope of one day entering politics [Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro was a mentor].
I pondered law school as a means to an end (getting elected) but thanks to the intercession of a lawyer friend opted for the life-changing route of journalism school.
When the dust settled, I got back on my horse and galloped into the reaches of cyberspace.
