Semper Fi Classroom Appearance

With a voice as sure as the sea; I speak ---- still; Today ---- with our remembrances of
things past
@ the battlefront
of brave language
we are called to Listen.
For some, there is no forgetting ----
that IED
thundered ----
surprised our formation.
There was no recovery; no defensive maneuver
to save our hands,
arms,
legs.
Basic training does not presume
to do anything more
than elevate tourniquet consciousness.
It becomes our task
to ask :
Has the mission *really* been accomplished when bodies have been reduced,
re-sized
without Congress
assuring a guarantee; a bond of surety
for the wounded to return
without reliving the explosive truth of pre-mature

Presidential declarations :
Rehab doesn't make anyone more ready
for democracy.

Hitching a Ride

From the shadow-ed force of neighboring geometries; a carpenter's son puts it to the pedal[s] with a girl's weight on his shoulders.  Human beings should only be caged when fear or crime drives them under.          But children?  Well; we know appearances can be deceiving.  Still want to hitch a ride?

BKLYN @ the Times' Center [4 Real?]

Perhaps you've stumbled upon the television advertising campaign; or have encountered it @ some cinematic juncture on cable [no matter your 'provider'] but the New York Times has been pushing its 'brand'; arguable "quality" and "accuracy" since 2010.  A black turtle-necked -- be-spectacled "intellectual" looks into the camera and asserts : "The best journalists" work @ and write for the Times.  So convinced is he, the terms are tempting --- "free" for the the first four weeks.                                   Too pressed for time?  Then get the Weekender --- perfect for cafes receptive to long stretches of caffeinated [con]infusion.    As if The[ir] previous pretentiousness wasn't enough; now they assert [see above adhesive] :  "[We] put Brooklyn in the center of the conversation."   Question : What conversation?                  Drilling Down : http://www.nyguild.org/ny-times-news-details/items/the-best-journalists-in-the-world-deserve-a-fair-contract.html
